Hongkong-China Trade and Customs Agreement.

The following are formal amendments to the printed

draft dated Shanghai, 26th September, 1930.

Preamble should begin "The Government of the United Kingdom

"of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the National

"Government of the Republic of China etc." After commerce"

insert "between the Colony of Hongkong and the Republic of

"China".

Articles I, XII (i) and XVI

For "Chinese Government" read "National Government of

the Republic of China".

Article IV:-

read "

For "British" read "a British subject", and for "Chinese"

a Chinese citizen.

Article VI.

Should begin:- "The expression 'coasting steamer'

shall mean etc.

Similar amendments should be made in the first line

of Articles VIII, IX, X and XI.

Articles VIII, IX and X:-

In first line of second paragraph, after "Colony" insert

"of Hongkong.

Article IX:-

"60" should be expressed in words, not figures.

XII(d).

Article XII

Before "respect" delete "the".

Article XIII:-

In first line before "Hongkong" insert "the Colony of."
